‘Let Go’ is taken from alt-pop duo ZELAH’s brand new four-track EP, I. Kicking off with a dense bass and confrontational vocals, the track gives off an atmospheric, tense vibe which is only furthered by the shuffling, thick texture introduced a few moments later. Catchy melodies juxtapose the dark accompaniment, with ZELAH explaining that the track “is definitely the darkest track on the EP and is mostly an expression of needing to feel something genuine in amongst a lot of other shallow and unfulfilling things”. Somehow, the duo keep on top of the volume and textural density and turn the piece into a headphone-testing dream for audio fanatics. - Dan Peeke
